Lives and works in Łódź, Poland.
The works come from the series in which I take up the question of change and transformation. I understand the changing hours in the titles of works as the passing emotions, lights, colours and landscapes. The hours and minutes that I precisely call my paintings are the capturing of a specific moment of watching and observing the world.
A concious departure from defining and hence turning to more abstract forms, is also a constant attempt to give my paintings a more universal meaning. By juxtaposing subsequent canvases, whether in the studio or at the exhibitions, I try to create a certain sum of stopped moments, but also moments that lie somwhere in between.
My paintings are created to be looked at. To me, a painting is not obliged to anything. It does not need to present the world, nor pretend anything. It just needs to be as it is, make us willing to look at it and be with, or on the contrary, attract us but make it impossible to be in its constant presence. It needs to be the colour, the light and the matter. An emotion tied to its perception.
