PhD in Design, Visual Arts and New Technologies from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Unidad Azcapotzalco (UAM-A), Mexico.M.A. in Visual Arts from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). B.A. in Fine Arts from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem, Israel. She is currently on her second year in a Critic Theory Post Doctorate in 17, Critical and Psychoanalysis Studies, in Mexico.


Since 1979, Gold has been a professor/researcher at the UAM-A in Mexico City. Gold coordinated the Bachelor’s Degree course in Art and Design and won the PROMEP-SEP performance award for the periods ranging from 2001-2004, 2004-2008 and 2012-2015. 

As an academic, she teaches in the Bachelor’s and Post-Doctorate courses in Design for the UAM overseeing Master Degree papers and research seminars, whilst teaching other subjects. Her artistic work has been included in art collections and museums in different countries around the world, including Mexico, Israel, the United States of America, Brazil, the Vatican, Argentina, Germany, the Czech Republic, England, Colombia, Ecuador and mainly in the WEB.

  • Bela Gold is an assessor of the Dirección General de Asuntos Culturales de la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores (General Direction of Cultural Affairs for the Foreign Affairs Secretariat), postgraduate scholarships from 2008 to this day.

In 2014 she is granted the DAAD scholarship, Deutscher Akademic Austausch Dienst, as a recognition for the relevance of her work presented at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and the Technische Universit[at zu Berlin.

  • She is granted with a scholarship from the Mexican Foreign Affairs Secretariat (SRE) to finance transportation for her attendance as a ‘fellow’ in the Humbold Universität zu Berlin.

Invited by the Deutscher Akademic Austausch Dienst as a ‘fellow’ in the Humbold Universität zu Berlin, at the Zentrum Judische Studien.

  • She got a Reseacrh Residence in the Humbold Universität zu Berlin in the Zentrum Judische Studien Berlin Brandemburg. She also is invited to do a research at ITS, International Tracing Services, Bad Arolsen, Germany, location of the recently declassified documents from Auschwitz.
  • Lecturer at the Humbold Universität zu Berlin, Zentrum Judische Studien: Documentary Pieces Related to the Holocaust (project) with the reading: ‘Poetics and the Perpetuation of Memory, Art and Radical Negativity’

  • In the fall of 2014 she contributed to the Social Remuneration Programs of the FONCA with the course: Experimental Drawing and Graphic Workshop at the CASA (Arts Center in San Agustín), Etla, Oaxaca and with the Graphic Workshop in Damián Flores, Oaxaca.
  • Participated as a Jury at the CAN (National Arts Center. PADID (Support for Teaching, Research and Diffusion of Arts), in the area of Visual Arts in the 2014 release.
  • Donated two pieces of work through the FONCA to the MAM (Modern Art Museum) and to the Museo Nacional de la Estampa (National Museum of Imprint), being both of them dependencies of the INBA (National Fine Arts Institute), Mexico, 2014.
  • Being part of the Research Committee of the Processes Department of the UAM Azcapotzalco, she participated in the Research Seminar of the Processes and Techniques Realization, September 2014, UAM-A, Mexico.
  • She is the tutor of the student Laura Inés Ganado, from La Plata University, Argentina-Art School, in the Special Program of Scholarships and Residences for Artistic Creation of the Scholarship Granting System for Foreigners of the Mexican Government.


  • In February 2014, she led the presentation of her book Palabra y Silencio (Word and Silence), in the International Book Fair in the Minería Palace, UNAM, along with Master Degrees Luisa Martínez Leal and Santiago Espinosa de los Monteros; the volume in the Libro-fest of the UAM Azcapotzalco, managed by the cultural journalist Angélica Abelleyra was also presented and at the FIL (International Book Fair) in Guadalajara, Jalisco, with the presence of PhD Aníbal Figueroa Castrejón (CYAD-UAM-A Director) and the Master Degree Víctor Muñoz (Galería Metropolitana Director, UAM), by invitation from the Publishing Department of the General Rectory-UAM, November, 2014.
